Motorcycle riders know how expensive good riding shoescan be. You want a pair of riding shoes to offer good protection in case of a fall (especially in the toe and ankle regions), be comfortable to wear and be stylish at the same time.

FILA has launched a range of motorsport shoes in collaboration with Rannvijay Singh (of MTV Roadies fame) that aim to give you all of these features at a good price.

To make long rides a little easier on your feet, these shoes have an insole made of FILA’s COMFRTX material. A tiny patch of it is included in the box to show you what it looks like. Think of it as a layer of bubble wrap under your soles, except it is made of rubber.

The padded high-ankle section has a rubberised protector on the outside. There is a large Velcro strap to lock your foot in securely. The upper is made of PU (polyurethane), which is quite thick for added protection.

We like the thoughtful design touches. For instance, the tiny patch of rubber near the toe area to resist abrasion caused by gear levers. Worn-out toe areas on shoes is one of the ways to recognise an avid biker — not if you’re wearing one of these, though. This patch is on both left and right shoes as some motorcycles have the gear lever on the right.

And, obviously, if you just like the design and don’t have a motorbike, you can still use them as casual, daily wear shoes because they’re not as stiff and restrictive as armoured biking shoes. You can get them in three colours and we think the price is quite amazing for what is on offer.
