The Italian jewelry house Miseno recently released the Miseno Raggi and Ventaglio jewelry collections. The new pieces are crafted from 18-karat white, yellow, or rose gold, with such stones as amethyst, blue topaz, blue sapphires, and diamonds.

The Raggi collection—a 25-piece compilation of rings, earrings, cuffs, and a pendant that range from $1,900 to $47,000—draws its inspiration from the sun. A circular gold pendant encrusted with thin rows of diamonds conjures images of sunrays; a gold cuff encircled with lines of diamonds mirrors the varying wavelengths of sunlight. The Ventaglio collection—featuring 37 rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and pendants ranging from $3,700 to $78,000—was inspired by the hand fan, an elegant accessory that dates back to 400 BC. A rose-gold necklace features alternating strings of diamonds shaped like fans; a fan-shaped strand of white-gold-and-diamond earrings culminate in Tahitian pearls.

Miseno’s backstory is every bit as charming as its classic pieces. The founder Antonio Cardamuro takes inspiration from the ancient Italian city of Miseno—where an arch was built that was said to bring happiness to residents and passersby—when envisioning handcrafted jewelry pieces that he hoped would bring similar joy to wearers. Mesmerized by the mythology of the Mediterranean, his past work has explored the whimsy of the sea through fluid designs and bright colors. The new Raggi and Ventaglio collections follow that ethos.
