Experiment with your wedding jewellery

Gearing up for your wedding? Wait. If you haven’t really shopped yet, then there are latest trends that will make you look much more prettier on the most special day of your life.

Give it a read, as city-based freelance jewellery stylist and designer Shravani Mittapalli talks about latest designs that are in and best suited for modern-day brides for different occasions during wedding.

“One can pair plain gold heavy choker, gold haaram (chain), gold antique vaddanam (waist belt) with some dark-coloured sari for a perfect look on the wedding day,” shared Shravani.

Talking about another trend, she says that satlada, a neckpiece with seven steps worn mostly by north Indians on their wedding day is much in trend in the southern parts too. Brides looking for a stylish appearance can go for polki jewellery that has high demand among young brides. Polki lockets with bead chains are currently trending.

There is nothing new in knowing that beads can never be out of fashion as some or the other new creation hits the jewellery stores every now and then. If one really wants to buy something in beads style, then multilayer beads with different combinations are in fashion. “The brides mostly wear this style of jewellery during Sangeet,” says Shravani.

For the diamond lovers, Shravani says, “On the reception day, diamond choker or a necklace set would look the best if combined with big hanging earrings. But avoiding diamond jhumkas and chandbalis would be a good choice, as they are not in trend anymore.”

To go for a complete look, one can opt ear cuffs including huge earrings, head paasha and satlada.
If the brides want to try some different options, then, they can go for motifs. “They can get bangles and earrings sets where everything is designed using the same motif. Like flower motif all over for instance,” suggests the designer.

There are a lot of brides who love to experiment with their look on the wedding day, to look different. Most of them wish to give everything their personal touch, epecially things that are high on fashion and for such kind of brides, pearls, enamelled, thewa or meenakari are most trending that they can experiment with consulting the designer.
