UNFORTUNATELY for Kim Kardashian West, her reign as the queen of Instagram didn’t last long, as a mere two weeks since she surpassed Beyoncé as the most-followed star on the social-media platform, Taylor Swift has taken her crown.
The Bad Blood singer and Vogue cover girl sailed smoothly past Kardashian West’s 45.5 million followers – as well as Beyoncé’s 45 million – taking her figure from 43.7 million to a new record of 45.6 million (that’s an increase of 1.9 million). Not bad for two weeks’ work – no doubt the continuously headline-hitting star guests at her 1989 tour, not to mention her storming the VMAs last week helped bump up her statistics.
But, apart from the pair competing in the supporters stakes, their feeds don’t bear any conflict of interest. While Kardashian West famously favours sharing selfies of the semi-undressed kind, Swift is more prone to posting pictures of her concerts, cats and her supermodel friends cooking. Either way, both appear to be a recipe for success, but could a Beyoncé comeback could be on the cards? Let the canvassing commence.
