Miranda Kerr is many things; model, mother, skincare mogul, professional earth mother and now… protector of elephants.
Yes, you read that right.
The Australian model kindly donated $100,000 to Thailand-based Friends of the Asian Elephant (FAE) last year and now she has seen the fruits of her generosity – new legs for injured elephants.
The foundation has released images showing elephants horrifically injured by landmines being fitted for prosthetic legs and thanked Kerr for her monetary gift.
“When I thanked her, Miss Kerr said she appreciated what my foundation was doing and she was happy to know about FAE and happy to help our good cause,” Soraida Salwala, Founder and Secretary General of the Friends of the Asian Elephant, told The Mirror.
The moulds are seen being applied to elephants Motala and Mosha. They are then shipped back to Chantilly, Virginia-based Animal Orthocare who fashion the limbs to snugly fit the patients.
Kerr is a well-known animal lover and ensures that her skincare company, Kora Organics, does not test on animals.
The mother-of-one, who was formerly married to British actor Orlando Bloom, is currently in a relationship with billionaire Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel.
