CHRISTOPHER RAEBURN has created a collection for Clarks, which will make its debut at his London Fashion Week show later this month. The Clarks x Christopher Raeburn offering – which comprises 11 styles inspired by anthropologist Tom Harrison in Borneo – includes both men’s and women’s styles that merge Raeburn’s urban utilitarian aesthetic with Clarks’ classic simplicity.
Sandals with woven detailing and bold ankle straps lead the women’s collection, and will take to the catwalk on September 22 at Raeburn’s spring/summer 2016 show. Created using recycled EVA and cork, the shoes have a modern-but-vintage feel, embracing the hardworking, easy-wearing tenets of both brands.
“Developing this collection with Clarks has been a truly collaborative and creative experience,” Raeburn said as the launch was unveiled today. “We have been able to successfully evolve a design aesthetic that captures the essence of both brands, as well as bringing to life the seasonal narrative – and I am incredibly pleased with the diverse and yet cohesive nature of the final range”
“We are excited to be working with Christopher Raeburn, one of a new generation of a British designers whose thinking aligns so closely with our own,” Neil Beeson, group director of women’s product at Clarks added. “Christopher’s innovative sports and military aesthetic combines perfectly with Clarks’ 190 years of footwear expertise to create a really exciting new proposition. Performance materials, global inspirations and traditional techniques deliver a distinguished collection which we believe customers will love.”
