2016 Golden Globes:11 looks that mattered the most

From gilded gowns to cool cape gowns, the red carpet at the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards was filled with some of fashion’s most dynamic trends. Notably all of them pulled straight from the spring collections of designers like Versace, Giambattista Valli, Dior, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton to name few.

While award’s favourite Jennifer Lawrence painted the carpet red in her Dior cut-out gown and Jennifer Lopez recreated the famous Angelina Jolie leg-baring pose in a yellow Giambattista Valli couture gown it was Alicia Vikander – The Danish Girl star who stole the red carpet with her simplistic sense of style in a custom-made Louis Vuitton embroidered gown. But having said that there were other celebs too who stole every bit of attention in the red carpet with their stylish ensemble

From winter whites to shimmery nudes, cool capes to cloaks, these are the looks that had everyone talking at the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Find out if your favorite look made it to the list of best looks of 2016 Golden Globe Awards:

Jennifer Lawrence in a crimson Christian Dior featuring cut-out that gave the waist-whittling effect, paired with a statement making diamond Chopard choker.

Kate Hudson joined the skin-baring trend too in a shimmery nude Michael Kors cut-out gown

Alicia Vikander perfected the winter white fantasy in a Louis Vuitton gown which many notes is the chicest apron dress ever. The sheer pleats and the ruffled high neck and cap sleeves, and a crisscross back added to it.

Rooney Mara edged up her red carpet appearance in a ruffled nude Alexander McQueen gown completed by an even edgier braided pony-tail do.

Cate Blanchett dared to wear two trends that most would avoid – baby pink and fringe. But if it’s a custom-made haute couture from Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci who wouldn’t! Plus the Tiffany diamond and pearl tassel earrings added feminine sophistication to Cate’s look.

Saoirse Ronan, a Golden Globe nominee, channeled a modern Grecian goddess in a white Saint Laurent couture gown that featured a subtle cloak.

Taraji P. Henson was dressed nothing like her reel character on the red carpet. Making an appearance in white the actress was wearing a custom Stella McCartney gown that had a train we secretly wanted to glide on.

Brie Larson, who won the Best Actress in a Drama, chose to wear a gilden custom-made Calvin Klein cut-out gown

Kirsten Dunst flaunted ample cleavage in a low-cut black velvet gown by Valentino. Adding sparkle to the black ensemble were her diamond bracelet and dangling earrings

Jennifer Lopez always knows how to grab all the attention. This time in a yellow Giambattista Valli haute couture gown which was accompanied by the famous Angelina Jolie leg pose and of course dazzling carats of diamond necklace and earring
