I've read so many reviews talking about what a deplorable character the narrator is, but the truth is, the entire cast is just awful. I can't think of a single likable characterthis is a book full of narcissists, liars, manipulators, and womanizers.

Sadly, there is nothing remotely enjoyable about Lie With Me. The first 200 pages are so slow and tedious, I seriously wasn't sure I could finishand I have always fini

It starts with a lie. The kind we’ve all told – to a former acquaintance we can’t quite place but still, for some reason, feel the need to impress. The story of our life, embellished for the benefit of the happily married lawyer with the kids and the lovely home.

And the next thing you know, you’re having dinner at their house, and accepting an invitation to join them on holiday – swept up in their perfect life, the kin

I decided to read this book since it was a book of the month selection. It starts off slow and stays that way throughout the book. At some point it is clear what is going to happen and when it does you’ll get the impression that the book has the wrong name it should have been Manipulation.

    RECOMMENDATION; MAYBE

I really enjoyed this book. While the protagonist was not a likeable person, he was credible. I don't think it really mattered whether the story was plausible or not; it was such a rollicking good read, that it sucked me

Lately, books on kindle listed as "a psychological thriller with a twist you won't see coming" in the title have put me off. This book does NOT say that but provides that. A nice change.

Read from cover to cover in 3 days. The story caught me from the beginning. You like the main character and you kind of want to kick him at the same time for being such a cad.

Awesome mystery, great for the beach.

  8. says:

One of the few 'psychological' thrillers that really lives up to the name and actually is an intense riveting psychological study and a suspenseful twisty mystery.

  9. says:

Like some other reviewers I found this book disappointing. It was very drawn out, and I felt I could have been reading a magazine story. Not gripping enough for me. I could easily put it down. For me a really good thriller takes my b

Even a casual observer of reviews will know that views can differ widely, but this book seems to have polarised opinions than most. S

I gave up on this book part way through and can't understand what all the hype is about and why it became a Richard no characters to like and the author skips randomly from the past tense to present at the start making us work too hard. At the dinner party we're 'told' about an intriguing event in Greece a few years before. But one bit of in

It took me a while to get in to this book. The narrator of the story, Paul, is not a very likeable character. He constantly lies, steals and sponges off others, even though he had the potential to be a decent, upstanding citizen, having written a best selling novel in his last year at Cambridge University, whic

It's always difficult to get into a book when you dislike the protagonist, but I persevered and discovered he had a few good points. However, there were errors in this book which surprised me given that it was a Richard and Judy choice. A handkerchief, which played a key role, suddenly became a scarf and then a bandana (quite a difference),
