It’s never too early to start shopping for the holidays, and you can do so at the annual Masquerade $5 jewelry and accessory sale to be held at the BrownsvilleEventCenter.

The sale will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, and everyone is invited to look at the variety of necklaces, rings and bracelets. There will be items for men as well.

“We also have things like little flashlights for men (and) we have a lot of NFL (items),” said Lorraine Gonzales, Valley Baptist volunteer services manager. “(Masquerade) tries to bring different things.”

The proceeds will benefit the Valley Baptist Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship Fund. Held twice per year, this jewelry and accessories sale is held to raise money for students who are pursuing a medical career.

Last year, Valley Baptist was able to give seven scholarships at varying amounts of up to $1,000. Gonzales said it would be great to raise $20,000.

Things that also can be found at the fundraising event are hats, wallets and even slippers.
