A high-end jewellery firm in Leicester has added nine new brands to its stock following plans to move into larger premises in September.
Lumbers, of Market Street, has announced it will be adding luxury brand Omega watches, leather goods brand Aspinal of London and single-hand watch makers MeisterSinger to its lines of jewellery, gifts and watches in its new store in High Street, Leicester.
Other new brands will include Swiss watch brand Parmigiani Fleurier, glass-maker Lalique, cufflinks brand Deakin & Francis and jewellery brands Georg Jensen, Bigli and Stockert & Cie.
This is in addition to its current luxury brands, including Tag Heuer, Chopard and Breitling.
Lumbers announced in December it was relocating to the former site of Dominoes toy shop by the end of the summer, creating five jobs.
Dominic Gomersall, managing director at Lumbers, said: “We are very excited about having Omega join us.
“It is a huge international brand and it will be great to be able to tie it in with the new James Bond film.
“The gift department is also a completely new avenue for this business.
“There will be an Aspinal of London engraving station, in addition to our jewellery engraving facilities, so that people can personalise their gifts. These days, the high street has to compete against the internet, so the high street should always be giving something extra.”
The new Lumbers shop will be spread across three floors, consisting of a retail area, VIP section and the firm’s office space.
The retail area will feature the full jewellery and watch lines, and also a gift shop.
The VIP section will consist of a kitchen, champagne bar and entertainment areas for guests.
Lumbers recently completed a deal with former Leicester Tigers rugby star Matt Poole and catering firm Finesse Hospitality to help provide experiences for their customers.
One of these will include meals created by a Michelin starred chef.
Dominic said: “We decided to launch the VIP area because in the city centre there are not many locations that are smart enough for entertaining and give that VIP experience to people. Doing this will also encourage footfall for us.
“I think it will be a really exciting addition to the city for the corporate and the business community.”
Lumbers, founded in 1881, was earlier this year named as the number one retailer for Breguet Europe, Breitling UK and Chopard UK.
It was also named as the Retailer of the Year at the Leicester Mercury Business Awards.
